It has been ages since I rode a motorcyle. It's more common in the Philippines. Most of my cousins and uncles have one. My mother would prefer that I don't ride in one, but when she not around, I end up riding in one with my cousins or uncles. Are upi familiar with those flying bugs at high speed? I'm not really wild about that. That's why any memphis shades might just be the thing to have a fun and bug-free ride.Also, it would make it so much easier to breath and ride. I'm one of those people who can't quite breath when the wind is blowing in my face.

Yeah, with the dollar sign. I was trying out this scanning program. But, the dollar sign shows up unless you pay 40 bucks a year. I did pay that, but this was scanned right before I paid..hence the dollar signs all over.

I have a dream of having my own online bookstore. I would like for this bookstore to be self-supporting. Ideally, I'd like to keep it going for a long while. I'd like for it to be profitable. I thought of a perfect name for it. I even bought that name. One of the most challenging things is finding a good webhosting site. I love my purple shoes. I didn't even think of getting it. The shape of it wasn't my type. But, my daughter and I were inside a discount shoe store. These pair cost me less than a meal at Chilis. So, I took a chance and wore it to my sister's wedding. What fun shoes to wear. I stood and walked around in it for over 4 hours and my feet didn't hurt. Considering it's 4 inches, that's amazing!

I love sunflowers. I used to be scared of them because they're so huge. But then I discovered sunflower seeds. I like them salted, or honeyed. It's a good nut for salad. It's even better than peanut because it's small. I also grew them last summer, and come to appreciate them more.

I like the idea of having real estate property as an investment. I like owning two apartments and 3 houses. The biggest part of the problem for me is dealing with problematic tenants. I think what I need is a Real Property Management company that can handle one or 100 properties. I don't mind paying extra, just as long as I don't have to deal with deadbeat tenants. They come in all forms. Some look very upwardly mobile North Americans, and others looks homeless. Still, whatever they look like, I prefer not to deal with them. This is property managers is an integral part of my investment.

I have this thing about tall buildings. I used to be scared to go to downtown. I cannot walk a block without bumping into a smelly homeless person.

This book is huge! It was so big, I decided to listen to it in audio. I was captivated, enthralled and converted. I love the book so much, I read it too after 14+ hours of audio. Now, Eric Bana is going ot make this into a movie with Rachel McAdams. I'm looking forward to watching this one.

Accident

One morning, right when we're leaving for school, we heard a big BANG. I went outside my house to look, but I didn't see anything amiss. I heard sirens and lots of keening scream. I finally went out my house and walk over to where I thought I heard the sound. At first, I saw this missing garage door and lopsided wall.

On closer look, I see this too. This car went through a closed garage door, garage wall, right into an inner courtyard and parked there. No one was maimed or hurt. The house or the car or both have great insurance though. Three insurance adjusters showed up at the accident site within minutes. I still couldn't figure out how this Benz SUV drove fast enough to do this damage on a school zone. I can't figure it out. Maybe an epilepsy?

I find it very nice that my husband takes pictures so I can have it to post on my blog. I would never have seen this rose because it't now where I would usually go. But here it is, he took it for me.

I had roses like this, but my dog eat it. Actually, I don't think he ate it, more like he snipe it, and then scattered the petals all over my ground. Then he lay down on the petals. I am clueless about electronics. I was going to change my biochemistry major in college to electrical engineering. Then I took physics and found out that talking about electricity and capacitors puts me to sleep. I rely on the professionals to get the right compression connector needed to make my electronics working. On the other hand, since my brother does not live nearby anymore, I'm learning more about connectors. For example, I've learned that compression f connectors from ICM are easy to install. I'm all for convenient and ease in installation when it comes to electronics. These connectors does not fall off over time, even with constant jiggling. That's important.

So I made my brother stand in front of it and take some pictures.

However, the sun was in my eyes, so I wasn't sure how he'd look in the picture. I'm working with a cell phone camera, so it's rather hard to get a closer view. That's how my baby brother ended up looking so small and far away. Trust me, he's good-looking, and he's single besides.

There is no denying that looking our best helps with self-esteem. It doesn't hurt to look good and know it. I have a friend who's already gorgeous. Yet, she felt bloated and not sexy enough. She had a liposuction done. She's still beautiful and attractive, but now that she feels it; she has a certain glow. I was first aware of credit card as a college student. At first, I was only signing up based on which card will give me free T-shirts or cool pens and other knick knacks. I wasn't paying attention to APRs and interest rates and yearly fees. I think there's a new breed of student credit card that's available. I think that before signing up with one card, there should be an informed decisions. For those times when all the balances cannot be paid in full at once, it's important to pick a card that's low interest for purchases. It's also good to know if there's a balance transfer deals you can find with low interest and zero transfer fee. Maybe sign up for one which will earn you some cash back. Shop around. Loss Weight, Look Great

I'm happy I'm finally losing weight, but it's not the same as being in shape and looking wonderful. I've been checking out weight loss woodlands. It's less than four hours away. They have a seminar this coming Saturday and on Tuesday, March 21 and 24 respectively. I would consider going just to be informed. Like I said, to look good, one must put in the time and a little bit more effort than sitting around watching TV while eating chips. Lap band is really putting a little gate somewhere in the intestine. This limits food intake the healthier way. It's certainly one thing to consider if you must go the surgical way of loosing weight.

Tomorrow, the quarterly tax is due. It's usually one day every so many months where I don't feel like spending money. It's all going to Uncle Sam. Maybe I should have listened to my mother and studied accounting, then having my taxes done will be just part of my job. And I get paid having to practice filing taxes for other people. I wonder if it's too late to take up accounting? Do I have like number to be an accountant? Hmm, it sounds like a serious consideration to consider. :)

Some blue will make you sad. Yet some are quite uplifting. This is the blue towards sunset when I was driving towards the library. I'm listening to Glitter Baby by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. I bought it from audible for my iPod. I like this new reader. I thought no one could ever replace Anna Fields, SEP's previous reader, but Julia Gibson is spectacular. This is what happens when the photographer is not quite old enough to care about framing. Still, you have to agree that there's a certain something about the picture. I can't quite put words into it. I did remember squeaking when I saw that the carefree swining of small arms made my Sony camera slam into my piano, leaving a huge gash on it's frame. I wasn't sure if I was worried for my camera or sad that my piano is no longer prestine. Prestine or now, I have a budding photographer on my hand. I think that the best way to handle this is to buy him his own small camera so it wouldn't gouge out anymore parts of my piano when the camear hands swang around in excitement again.

We went to Six Flags Over Texas the day before New Year's day. I rode the Titan's 2 times and ended up spending the rest of the evening trying not to puke. Every time I feel queasy, I suspect it's pregnancy or my prescription glasses. I can't have babies anymore, so it's got to be my glasses. I was just thinking of getting another frame to go with my new prescription. Holiday frames, isn't that part of celebrating the holidays? Have glasses to match your outfit? For me, it's so necessary. I'm practically helpless without my glasses.

I am thinking of getting this frame. I always get the boring silver or brown ones, and all of my glasses since forever are practically the same style and type. This frame will tell me to have fun, live a little and all that jazz. In fact, I have already bought the shoes to match these frames. My husband needs his glasses too. He had a pair, but he had misplaced it. Considering he can't read clearly without it, I'll probably talk him into getting a matching pair so we'll match.

A rimless pair like the one above is probably a good match for him. He's so handsome, so he can wear just about anything. Do you think this pair will go for male? I'm not too sure, but I think it might be alright. This is actually the best way to buy glasses. Buying from the privacy of my home, and not having to dress up for it. Now, if only someone can prescribe my glasses online. That would be cool!

I'm starting to think that my boys have scissors in their knees. Their pants would always split open at the knees after so many days. I totally get my best friend now when she made sure her boys stays on shorts until they're 9 or older. Her boys' short pants last longer than the long pants. She mentioned that hurt knees scabs and heal, but the long pants is totally different. Now that I am in her shoes, I am thinking that the only pants for active boys are the ones from 5.11. These are tactical pants. Police and other active people use this pants when training. If it works for them, it has to work for me.

I am really glad that I am not as fat as I was in this picture. The secret is not overeating. How easy it is, and how long it took me to remind myself to stop overeating. I went shopping for clothes the other day, and I was buying size 8 and 10. I couldn't be more thrilled. I am especially excited that my tummy's not bulging out so much anymore. A bit more time with my sneakers and push ups and crunches and I'd look fabulous again in jeans. I can hardly wait!

This is a rose from my Aunts house. My mother took this picture a week before my Uncle John died of old age. This is just one of the plants he tended while he was alive and able. He loves his plants. Right now, I'd be happy to have a car that will work without breaking down. One of our Astro vans broke down again. Yes, we have more than one. With all the repairs we've paid for that particular one already, we might as week have bought a new car with the money. I'm thinking a special car for my use only. Well, mine and the kids. I've never thought of over speeding in our old buick, but with buick supercharger, we can probably have fun at an empty highway somewhere. I'd prefer one without a speed trap. Actually, even an old car armed pontiac supercharger can probably turn a few heads in the highway. I love to speed. How To Pick The Correct Neighborhood

I'd want something with a gate. It's safer. I'd want one with a gate, but no homeowner's fee. They annoy me. I'm already paying for my home, now I have to pay again?

Then, I want a view like this from out my window. I'm not picky which window, as long as I can see it from one of my windows in my house.

Then, I'd want something with a nook like this. It makes it much more interesting. This is the neighborhood I want. In fact, they have a house for sale that's in my price range...unfortunately, after I pay for the downpayment of the house, I'd have to stop eating because the house is all I can afford. But hey, on the upside, I'll be slim again!

Can I Just Scream?

I can't really say exactly, but I'm frustrated as hell. Arrgh! Do you have those days when it starts out wrong, and it just become wronger by the second? Well, that is one of those days for me. I went out jogging to run the anger away, and now I'm just one big ball of anger. Running didn't work. Plus it's so cold, it hurt my chest to breath. I did scream while jogging, but I got to light-headed, I didn't think it was a great idea at all. I just want this day to be over with. And then, I never want to have days like this again. At least not for a while. Not even a naked Daniel Craig can make it feel better!

I have a hunger headache. I've been running around all day doing stuff. At first, I was running around in my 4-inch heels playing sexy, then I ran around in my mules playing contractor.

I wanted to read THE GREAT AND TERRIBLE BEAUTY first. It's going to be movie. Unfortunately, I borrowed the book from the library and have no time to read it. I borrowed the rest of the trilogy instead. I put it in my iPod and listen to it as I go about my daily business. Anyway, it takes a while to get used to Josephine Bailey's reading style. But, I find myself lulled into enjoying the story with her.

In this installment, Gemma Doyle have gone to the Realms, an alternate world where she has magic and powers. She's friends with a whiny and complaining Anne. Her other friends is Felicity, a daughter of army man who's got secrets, but we don't know what it is. She's bitchy, and mean sometimes. It makes me wonder why Gemma put up with her, but there it is.

It's not my type of story, but it's good. I just wish that Gemma Doyle's magic have a point. She's like a child with a 100th pair of Barbie. It's nothing so special anymore. Do I recommend the book? Yes. Amazon readers gave it five stars. I give it a little less. Three stars.

I bet you know what's the beauty of sky watch. I've always appreciate a good sky. I like to find figures in the clouds. Often, it's animals, sometimes, it's Julius Ceasar. How many times have you seen a monkey?

Sometimes, it's just being aware of what a beautiful sunrise it's is.

It's like stopping to smell the roses, without the fragrance. Still, with this much beauty, I bet you could call to mind a most pleasant aroman. Coffee maybe?

I like boots. They're nice and warm in winter. In fact, I like boots so much, I own more than a dozen at a time. I like them in heels, but I also like them sturdy and strong like work boots. Now, you can shop for work boots even when you might not use it for working because they're beautiful. Gas Prices

What's the gas prices like in your part of town? I just saw this last Friday. We were driving around town looking for a stylus to replace the one I lost from an HP pocket PDA. I also lost my Nintendo stylus, but they're sold almost all over town, so I am not worried.

We went to Microcenter, but they didn't have the plain black one. We did bought two extension outlets for all the rechargeable batteries we have. Afterwards, we went to Fryes Electronics. That's where I found the HP stylus. My husband bought some other stuff. I can't remember what they were. I find this very disturbing because I cannot remember what they were! I guess in my old age, memory gets a little stuffy.

Don't Emtpy Your Piggy Bank for a Pair of Glasses

It's that time of the year again. I would always check and double check my budget because a trip to the eye glass store is about 300 dollars. That is after taking advantage of Eye Master's $99 special. I've been taking their special for years. I find it so amazing that I have never, ever paid for just $99 prescription glasses. First off, there's maybe 5 pairs of frames out of the sea of frames that qualifies for $99. Some sale huh?

So, when my pair of glasses disappeared one morning last month, I wasn't happy. Where am I going to get an extra 300 for a new pair? I search high and low, and all around. It's very frustrating. There are many teeth grinding. There might have been some cusses along with feet stomping too. I really wanted another pair of beautiful eyeglasses
without paying a fortune for it. If you know me, you'd know that I might be carrying a designer handbag, but I didn't pay for it.

Zenni Optical is just the ticket. I can buy a pair with shades and it's still under 35 dollars with shipping. That is unbeatable, considering I paid 300 for my last pair. I can always use wonderful places like this. In fact, I am buying my next pair here. These pair below comes in many different colors. My search is definitely over.

How would you feel when you're driving along, all nice and glowy with happiness, and then comes along a line cutter? It's a white SUV. This isn't the first time this happened! Not even my happiest of happy place can prevent me from screaming out the window.

I tell you, if I was a witch of some sort, that car is toast! I'd have picked it up with my brain power and hang it by the powerlines. That's what I'd do.

I can't really talked about it, but I'm just so unsettled about losing something that I have no intention to. I shouldn't mop around. I should stand and do something about it...but right now, I don't want to do anything. I just want to sit and read and listen to happy music.

In a little while, I will put on my sneakers and run. Running is good for making that tight feeling in my chest go. Running will get me my happy self back. It's either than or screaming, but I think running is a better choice.

I used to join many weekly theme activity. My favorite is Wordless Wednesday, but I could never keep it 'wordless'. I am always compelled to add a line or two. Then I joined Thursday Thirteen, but most of the time, I'd ran out of words before I'm at my #13.

Then, I stumbled into Tom's Sky Watch, and finally, I found something perfect! I can always find a sky to take a picture of. I'm thinking of carrying my camera all around with me for that perfect oppurtunity to take a picture of. I love how my ordinary walk suddenly have meaning. I can take a picture of a place I like, and I can share it with other sky watchers. See this waking sun? I'd love to have a camera good enough to capture sunrise.

I think my children associates boredom relief with a trip to 7-11. I think I should count myself lucky that they're not asking for a shopping trip to the mall. It's either library, or slurpee. Hey, at least they rhyme. Sometimes, we walked to the nearest one and burn off the slurpee calories on the walk home. So, we're off to get some slurpee. It's about the only time I could enjoy Dr. Pepper.

That, or eating halves of strawberries. I haven't figured it out.

I have finally stopped answering my house phone. It's not because of my relatives asking for money, because they don't. It's those annoying unsolicited phone calls. I paid extra to have my phone unlisted and private, but I'm still getting them. I was told that they have programs that would randomly generate numbers. That is one of the reasons why I'm still getting calls. Thirteen Things about headache

Areas that hurt during headaches:
1. network of nerves along the scalp
2. certain nerves on mouth, face, neck and throat
3. muscles in the head
4. blood vessels along the surface and at the base of the brain
5. skull and tissues of the brain do not hurt because they don't have pain-sensitive nerves.

What happens during headache?
6. Ends of pain-sensitive nerves are stimulated by stress, dilated blood vessel, muscle tension and other headache trigger and tells that part of the brain that takes these messages that part of the body is in pain.
7. Different chemicals transmit pain-related messages. People who suffer from chronic headache is said to have low level of endorphins, a natural pain-killing stuff in the body.

Primary headache:
8. when muscle contracts (muscular/tension headache)
9. migraine (blood vessel contracts)

As Cheap As It Goes and Still Quality

I've been wearing sunglasses since I was in my early teens. At first, I would misplaced them and would always find them after I had sat on it. If there was eyeglasses as cheap as the ones offered now, then my mother would probably have been less annoyed with me. I still wear my glasses today. I prefer them to contacts because I'm used to it.

I won't care so much if my child sits on her glasses because it's affordable to replace it. I have not ordered a pair yet because we have not gotten our new prescription. Never Say Never

I was so happy to lose 4 pounds, then I discovered bread bowl and soup.

I shouldn't have tasted it. Drat! Darn and all that...I gained 4 pounds in one day. As if that isn't enough punishment for a girl who wants to lose the fat, I tried Black Eyed Peas rolls and immediately went into ecstatic sighing. I ordered 3 dozen and finished it in a day. Well, I had some help, but the point is, all of it were gone in one day!

You can put RON'S WORLD FAMOUS ONION SOUP

2 lg. Spanish onions
2 tbsp. butter
2 jiggers bourbon or rye
4 c. chicken broth
2 c. beef broth
1/4 tsp. fresh ground black pepper
2 tbsp. fresh ground Parmesan
Beef bouillon cubes
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
Soup bowl topping on each bowl put toast or crusty bread, 1 slice each of Provolone, Mozzarella, portdusalut (or other), fresh ground Parmesan

Cut the onions in half through the stem end, then into thinnest possible slices. Saute in a soup pot (large) with butter. When onions are a rich yellow color (not brown) add the whiskey. Wait a few seconds then light the whiskey with a long match. Mix with a long handled spoon while whiskey blazes. Add chicken and beef broth, fresh pepper and garlic and Parmesan cheese. Simmer for 30-45 minutes. A few beef bouillon cubes may be added for a darker color. Soup is best if left in refrigerator to age for a day. Pour heated soup into oven proof bowls. Top with toast or crust, bread, cover with cheeses and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and put under broiler until cheese starts to bubble.

Up on Coit Tower

After a long, long crowded wait for an elevator ride up to the top of Coit Tower, these are some views that you can see facing towards the City Hall. I never did find out that narrow building's name. I see it every where.
This is towards the Piers. I am intrigue by all those red-bricked buildings. It's unfortunate that I ran out of steam after climbing the numerous stairs to the base of this tower. I didn't have enough energy to go to the midst of those red buildings to find out what they are.

I was browsing through at Subash Gives Nothing for Anything and it's interesting. I like the color of the header, unlike mine who's gray with the boring old flag. By the title and header alone, you can feel that this blogger is going to be sassy and perhaps fun.

I was not disappointed to think that at all. In fact, the post I came to is MI3 upcoming release. I know I'm going to like this blog because it likes Tom Cruise. I'm a big Tom Cruise fan. Yes, even when he was acting like a resident of a funny farm jumping all over Oprah, I like him.

There was also a list of movies coming out. I know I'll watching more than half of them. The sidebar is fun. There's a trivia about Married with Children. Again, a show I enjoy very much because it was funny. I didn't share their philosophy of what marriage and children are all about, but it was a fun show to watch. I think I'll be checking more often from this blogger because it's an entertainment.

I used to go to this mall when I first arrive here seventeen years ago. I'd take a bus to my school, and on the way back, I'd stop by here and shop at 5-7-9. Those days, a long, long time ago, I wear 00 up to 3, if the clothing runs small. As I said, it was a long time ago.

I would sometimes go there now and still see familiar places. I still see the sickly, golden rabbit. I call it sickly because he's all pock-marked. All over. I have a picture of this rabbit when I weighed only 85 pounds. I should have taken a picture by this rabbit when I was twice that. Anyway, I'd just like to share these spots from long ago.

Downtown Living

I noticed that downtown Dallas is growing fast. There's many tall apartment/condo buildings going up right around the arts district area. I've always associated downtown as dangerous, but maybe not anymore. Each unit are going up from 350K and up. That's more expensive than my house!

Would I live in Downtown area? Maybe not. I like my evening stroll, and I don't think downtown is that safe at night yet.

Don't Let the Bed Bugs Bite

My child has bite marks on her arms after sitting on this chair with fabric arm rest. It looked like a mosquito bite, only it was all swollen. There were dozen red welts on her arms where it touched that chair. I was worried that it might be bed bugs, so I toss the chair out. Not all people are allergic to bed bugs bite, but my children are.

My main concern was treating bed bug bites. I put in vitamin E, straight from the capsule I opened and poured on her arms after I disinfect it. It's very itchy, so an anti-itch cream is in order. I was just very concern about the bug bites turning dark and scaring the skin. That's why I used vitamin E oil.

Miss Universe 2008

I grow up watching Miss Universe. Since I moved to the US, I haven't seen a single one in its entirety for 17 years. Last night, I caught the last half hour of the show. I think the most fun part of the show is when they have all the contestant in the stage and they dance and present themselves.

Last night, for the first time I have ever seen it, the previous Ms. Universe did her walk wearing pants! Why not a gown? It's always a gown! I was disappointed, but I guess this is a new era. The girl on the left was Ms. Japan, and the girl on the right is the current Ms. Universe, Dayana Mendoza.
